Life, Work, Robots, and Scrapbooking

Recent scrapbook page about the time I did not buy an entire 1976 set of World Book encyclopedias for $9.99.  Do I regret that decision?  Yes.

Work.  I spend about an hour every morning making sandwiches and salads for high school students.  I tried making a "fall" salad this week instead of just offering, chicken, vegetable, and chef salads and no one took one.  Turkey and dried cranberries sound like a delicious salad to me...  

Yesterday I was picking up a pizza, and stopped at the grocery store for things to go with it, and this robot came up behind me, and then blocked the soda I was trying to purchase.  I don't think I like robots in grocery stores.  

 My glasses.  I still need a picture of them on my face, but they are very helpful in reading tiny print on board game cards, and reading books without needing to stand next to a window.  Hold the old jokes, my kids already used all of them.  

Seize the weekend while it lasts!  

Work Life Balance

 Lack of posts because work-life- mom duty balance does not exist at the moment.

At the end of today, I will have 29.75 work hours this week.  The job I'm supposed to be doing is 25, and the job I'm really supposed to be doing is 15.  My boss tells me I'm doing great, so I'm not sure why she's trying to kill me.   There is no sitting, there are only cement floors and the anti-fatigue floor mats are scarce.  I am tired and grumpy and my feet hurt.

I am very glad there is no way this job can make me work evenings and weekends because I need the break.

The Humane Society waiting room.  We spend a lot of time in here.  It's very boring, except when people bring in lost pets with interesting stories.

I barely had time (less than four days) to take any photos of Starburst the foster kitten. I was going to take some nice ones with my big camera today.

The Second Week of September

The Long Weekend

Played a new game: Spooktacular.  You're the monster eating movie theater attendees.  Fun!

The tomatoes are finally ripe!

The end of an era.  Trying to give the dollhouse away.  It was for the girls after their brother destroyed the plastic dollhouse.  We found it at a thrift store for $15, and it's been loved, is solid.  I'm never going to become a dollhouse decorator (I don't need another hobby) although I think dollhouses are awesome.

 A picture is worth 1000 words.  This is the view from my parking space at work.  I take my break in my car because the other option is the cafeteria.  There's a staff room, but when I asked about it, I was told there wasn't one or we don't get to use it, or no one wants to show me where it is because it's on the other side of the building... 

 This is my "assigned space" I think except there's no number on it, so I'm kind of guessing.  Also it's not my space because while this spot was assigned to me, my managers keep telling me to park somewhere else.  I drive two cars to work depending on the day/ kids being picked up etc, and the school only gave me one sticker... I guess I'll keep it in my purse and tape it to my window every day.  I could probably write 1000 words on the subject but I'll spare anyone reading this the rest of the story. 

Story two, it rained yesterday hence the blurry windshield photo, and it's going to rain for the next week.  Hello, September!  

 

Today is September 1st.  Bring on pumpkin everything.  Also, my phone was 29% charged when I went to work (right after I took this screenshot), and dead when I left 5 hours later, and I wasn't using it even during my 15 minute break. I don't know what it's doing at work in my drawer, but it's sucking my battery away... I don't have a charger that fits my phone in both cars, so I should fix that issue...
